What additional costs will there be?

Firstly, we do not have hidden costs that are suddenly added to the price. You will need to pay yearly to keep your personal 'domain name' if you wish to keep it registered. If you have or require individual hosting then a yearly fee is payable. Alterations and ongoing maintenance could incur nominal fees, depending on changes proposed.

I thought it was at least a few hundred pounds to have a website, how can costs be so low?

This is why we offer our £40 starter package. Many people starting up, on a low budget, or wanting to 'test' benefits of the world wide web, or provide non-profitable information, etc, simply cannot pay so much. The majority will never use all they are being charged for, even when they are fully established and experienced with www business. Initially, you may not want complicated multi-page sites, so why pay for that?

What limits should I know about?

If your web pages require lots of data or heavy bandwidth then you need an upgrade. External advertising of your web pages are not included, although we do provide free links from our site plus advice on how to market your web presence.

Is a deposit required?

No, payment is not due until you have viewed your site and are completely satisfied with it.

What about email accounts?

We can include a domain-linked email re-direction, and we can set up any of the numerous free email services for you, if required. Our £40 starter package may not be suited if you require many different email accounts.

What information do you require to build my site?

Any photos that you would like to add to you site can be emailed to us or saved on a disc. It may be possible for us to take photos for you or to scan them in, please enquire for more details. We can word your site for you or you can tell us what you would like to say, the choice is yours.

What domain name can I have for my site?

You can have any '.co.uk' name you want provided that it is available and not already taken. We can check this for you, if your chosen name is not available we can suggest alternative available domain names. You can also have a'.com' or '.net' but these are more expensive so there may be a small additional charge if you want one of these.

How do I get my site listed in Google, Yahoo, MSN or other search engines?

We initially provide this as part of your package. Continuing free listings in search sites can become very complex, but these links can help you submit your site.

This is not easy to define. Rivals that have been registered on the net longer, or invest more money and time, will be harder to compete with. Speak to us about Google advertising and additional assessment of your ranking.

Now my web business is growing, can I upgrade?

Yes. You are not held by contract and we accomodate and welcome your growth.

Can I personally upload, alter and manage my online files?

Management by us takes the headache and complication away. If you do decide you need more independence you will likely need extra software for your pc, plus you will require to have individual hosting.

What is 'Domain name'; what is 'hosting'; what is 'bandwidth'?

These technical words are just a few reasons websites can become complicated, and ultimately the reason why you need our services. In simple terms:-

• 'Domain' is the registered name that is used as your internet address. Ie. 'waltonwebs.co.uk' is used instead of a line containing lots of numbers that would be the true internet address.
• 'Hosting' refers to the storage of your data on the internet.
• 'Bandwidth' refers to the access and transfer of your data from its stored position to the place that views or downloads it.
